Many customers asked for a better planning functionality in To-Increase Food Manufacturing and Distribution for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015 SP 1 when we prepared the new release. The solution now includes a Visual Sequencer , which is based on the same technology you find in the Visual Job Planning module of To-Increase Industrial Equipment Manufacturing for Microsoft Dynamics NAV . The Visual Sequencer is an advancement of the Production Sequencer that has already been available in Food Manufacturing and Distribution. By using the Visual Sequencer, you can easily visualize the production sequence for a specific machine in your food production . You can review production orders for a certain day or week, and switch their sequence, to optimize the capacity of that machine. The Visual Sequencer lets you improve the utilization of your equipment, avoiding lag and down times. You could also use it, for example, to make food production adjustments to account for perishable or dated product ingredients that need to be consumed at a different schedule than planned. With this intuitive, graphical planning assistant, you can accommodate resource changes related to production orders, simply dragging and dropping production orders onto your equipment planning display. You also can create non-production events for specific orders. The Visual Sequencer follows the business rules you establish in your BOMs for the machines and locations to be used in food production. Locations are maintained separately, and the solution will not let you drag-and-drop production orders to locations or machines for which they are not intended.
